Making the Grade: the school’s new achievement

To start out the new year, the school received an “A” grade in the new national ranking by the U.S. Department of Education. Out of an astounding 200 schools in Sonoma County, the school is one of the 24 that have received this impressive grade. According to Big House Happenings, ranking is based upon data points given by the US Department of Education, CAASPP, College Board, Healthy Kids Survey, truancy and discipline records, Office of Civil Rights, and parent and student feedback surveys. To give points efficiently, the graders evaluate the schools in numerous categories like academics, diversity, teachers, college readiness, clubs and activities, health and safety, administration, sports, food, and resources and facilities. Each category earned their own scores and were averaged to get the final grade. Students, administration, and staff are ecstatic and extremely proud.
