Testing Changes
In April, all juniors and seniors will take standardized tests. Juniors will be required to take the entire California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) test, while seniors will just be required to take the science portion, the California Science Test (CAST), test. Testing for seniors will occur the week of April 9, be conducted in science classes, and take up two full class periods. The tests will be taken on our school-issued iPads and students will be given keyboard attachments to make the process easier. As a way to incentivize seniors who may not see the point in putting effort into the CAST, free prom tickets are being offered as well as various other prizes. Students will be given a raffle ticket for the raffle prizes.
