Lance Sunshine
Lance Sunshine has committed to UC Santa Barbara and will be majoring in physics. Sunshine hopes to pursue a career in astrophysics research.
Sunshine has become an integral part of the school’s Burst ultimate frisbee club, which he considers the “friendliest sport.” Sunshine has played for one year and has been a captain for the team for two years. He is proud of how “friendly and encouraging” every member of the ultimate frisbee club is.
Sunshine is also a passionate tap dancer and started dancing at two years old. While Sunshine does not dance competitively, he still enjoys tap dancing and continues to dance at a studio in Santa Rosa.
Sunshine has also been an active member of many clubs and electives on campus. Sunshine has been a part of Jesus Club for four years and astronomy club for two years.
Sunshine has played the flute for band all four years, starting in Freshman Band and working his way up to Concert Band and Symphonic Band, as well as playing for the marching band.
Sunshine is also an avid volunteer in the community — after the Sonoma County fires, he volunteered at the New Life church, helping 380 people who sought refuge after escaping the devastating fires; he also volunteered at Meadow Elementary School to help them put on a play, “Macbeth,” with zoo animal characters.
