Samveda Rukmangadhan

Samveda Rukmangadhan has committed to UC Davis and plans on studying neurobiology. Rukmangadhan is unsure specifically what career she wants to pursue, but is certain she wants to go into the medical field.

Rukmangadhan has been a devoted athlete to both the varsity tennis and varsity badminton teams during her four years at high school and has served as the varsity tennis captain for two years.

Rukmangadhan has also been a dedicated member of the Academic Decathlon team for three years and has represented the school at the Academic Decathlon States competition for the past two years.

Rukmangadhan is also an active volunteer in her community, promoting STEM — science, technology, engineering, and mathematics — to youths and aiding health facilities. She helped coach the Science Olympiad team students from Corona Creek and Meadow Elementary Schools, teaching them about STEM-based topics and coaching them during their final Science Olympiad competition. Rukmangadhan also helped at the Petaluma Valley Hospital as a junior volunteer and helped deliver labs. Rukmangadhan was also an intern for the Sonoma State University nursing department and helped improve a free public clinic in Santa Rosa.

“Try to balance your social life and academic life — don’t give up one for the other but just try to make them equal and put equal importance on both.”
