Crumbl Cookies has taken the Internet by storm for its aesthetically pleasing and fun flavored cookies. With one opening up in Santa Rosa, we decided to give it a try!

In addition to its two regular flavors of Chilled Sugar and Milk Chocolate Chip, Crumbl Cookies releases new flavors each week. This week’s line-up includes Pink Velvet, Mom’s Recipe, Lemon Glaze, and Chocolate Cake.

Pink Velvet

This cookie instantly caught my eye: a pink sugar cookie with soft white frosting and cookie crumbles on top, it’s safe to say I was excited. With the base flavor as cake batter and the frosting as vanilla cream cheese, this cookie had the perfect ratio of frosting to cookie. It was moist and soft, and unlike the Chilled Sugar (which heavily relies on the almond frosting to keep the moisture), Pink Velvet delivered in every aspect.

Mom’s Recipe
Out of the four new flavors, I was least excited to try this cookie as the description itself of an “oatmeal cookie…with semi sweet chocolate, toffee, and peanut butter chips” seemed plain. Biting into the cookie, I was surprised by the crispy outside and gooey center with bits of crunch toffee. I was pleasantly surprised with this elevated chocolate chip cookie as all the additional elements — the flaky sea salt that offset the sweetness, and the richness of the peanut butter, perfectly complemented each other.

Lemon Glaze

Covered with a sweet glaze and topped with a lemon wedge, this cookie made me drool. Immediately hitting you as you bite into the cookie, is the smell of fresh lemon. I found lemon glaze to be surprisingly light and refreshing, and not overly sweet. This glaze also sealed the moistness of the cookie, so when you bite down, it is incredibly soft and melts into your mouth. One can describe it similar to the lemon pound cake from Starbucks.

Chocolate Cake

As a chocolate lover, I was very excited to try this cookie — and it did not disappoint. Splitting it in half, this cookie was the thickest out of the four. With a decadent fudge frosting and semi-sweet chocolate chips amidst the dough, this cookie melted in our mouths. It was very rich, fudgy, moist, and dare I say, cake-like? However, be warned, as it may be on the sweeter side for some. In comparison to last week’s flavor “Cosmic Brownie,” Chocolate Cake is by far the superior chocolate cookie flavor.

Overall, this week’s flavors did not disappoint, and it is easy to say that we will be checking in next week to see the new flavors. One can check the Crumbl Cookies website each Sunday to preview the new flavors of the week!
