A devastating mid-air collision rocked the city of Dallas, Texas Saturday afternoon. Two airplanes: one, a B-17 Flying Fortress, and another, a P-63 Kingcobra, slammed into each other just over the city, where many crowds and groups of people watched the show from.

In newly released video, the P-63, the smaller of the planes, can be seen heading towards the B-17 from the left side. Despite the P-63 turning, it continued heading in the direction of the other plane and shortly thereafter crashed straight into the B-17. The P-63 was almost immediately eviscerated on impact. The B-17 ‘s entire tail section was ripped off, and the the front end of the plane containing the cockpit lost control and nosedived into the ground.

The Dallas Police Department, Dallas Fire Department and the National Transportation Safety Board have all responded to the crash are working to contain the flames. However, the status of the pilots has not yet been released.

This is a developing story and will continue to be updated as new details emerge.
