A Top Company

Seniors Garrett Buffo and Vikram Singh were runner-ups this weekend in the finals of the Napa Valley Youth Buisness Plan Competition — where students demonstrate their entrepreneurship skills and compete for a $1000 prize. The two presented their business plan for Blank Clothing, a company whose name is inspired by the concept that life is a blank canvas. Their written submission was one of only six selected; there were more than 85 submissions. Although they were unable to earn the $1000 prize, Buffo expressed pride in their performance.

“Me and my business partner, Vikram Singh, had a pretty good presentation. We didn’t get the 1,000 dollar prize, but it was cool representing [our school] in a big competition like that,” said Buffo.

He went on to mention that their business was one of only a few that weren’t school-run.

“The second, third, and fourth place businesses were all school-run. I thought our presentation was the best one there, but the judges seemed a little biased towards school-run businesses instead of individually run businesses,” said Buffo.
