Fernando Aguiluz, Reporter
My name is Fernando Aguiluz, or more specific Fernando Dimas Aguiluz, or even more specifically, Fernando Gabriel Dimas Aguiluz. I was born in El Salvador, where I spent my first good 11 years and a half of my life until I moved to the U.S around mid March in 2021. I began my studies in fifth grade, but only for two months because I was enrolled in the elementary school Loma Vista, around April. Ever since, my life changed completely. It was hard to adapt, but with patience and motivation, I was able to. Now, I’m a sophomore in high school, trying to do better than in the past, because let’s say that in my freshmen year I didn’t do so well. I’m going to graduate in 2028 and then go to college and probably pick an engineering career, but I’m always open to other options. If you really know me, then you probably know that I love to do anything that gets me moving, like hiking. Even though I often don’t get the opportunity to do it, I enjoy it every time I can go. I love music, almost every type, whether it’s hip-hop, rock, jazz, ect, so I decided to start practicing playing some instruments on my “late” 16s, them being guitar, drums, and piano. But the thing I love the most, the thing I would spend multiple hours on, is soccer. Whether it is to play or watch, I love it. But I’ve got to admit that I’m not the best at playing it, that’s why I enjoy watching more than playing. The thing I love the most about soccer is FC Barcelona. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been a FC Barcelona fan. I grew up watching players like Lionel Messi, Neymar, Suarez, Iniesta, Dani Alves. Also, a fun fact about me is that I was born on the same date on which FC Barcelona won their third UEFA Super Cup; August 28, 2009. I guess I was just destined to be a FC Barcelona fan, huh? I might be their coach one day, who knows? One has to try to achieve your dreams, even if you fail, you have to try because after failure, comes improvement, and after improvement, comes success. Visca el Barça!
