Promposals have been a tradition in high schools for decades now, and they range from a poster with a cute saying to girls receiving expensive clothes and puppies. Many significant others get ideas from TikTok and Pinterest; however many people add their own twist to popular promposals. High schools usually offer a promposal contest to the student body to win prizes, and the Casa Grande ASB is no different, offering 2 free tickets for first place and 1 free ticket for second place (as measured by post likes).
The first proposal was Senior Angel Aviles asking out Valeria Reyes at her house with a trail of roses, leading to candles that spell out prom. The proposal was very original with him using fresh roses instead of a conventional poster. Aviles met his girlfriend in her backyard with a bouquet of flowers, and she said yes!
Colin Jacobs asked his girlfriend Jackie Hakeem from Petaluma High School on a picnic on the west side of town, and he surprised her with a poster that was based on the classic movie “10 Things I Hate About You.” He wrote 10 things he loved about his girlfriend, and number 10 was Hakeem as his prom date.
Senior Andy Nguyen asked junior Italy Garcia with a group of his friends. Nguyen took Garcia to hang out and surprised her with roses and a sign that read e out prom. Italy looked very thrilled and Andy ended his question with a bouquet of roses.
Exchange student Michal Wrona asked his girlfriend Jolie Sesky to prom with a candlelit room and balloons that spelled out prom. As she said, “I loved the promposal from my boo thang and would do the same all over again.” Jolie obviously said yes, and she looked ecstatic with her promposal.
Senior Philip Liu asked junior girlfriend Elly Vestnys in a sweet way with a box of donuts that spelled out prom. The box had a message for Vestnys that said “I donut know if this is sweet enough but …prom?” Liu definitely looks excited that his girlfriend Elly said yes!
Freddy Diaz asked girlfriend Brittany Tellez in a creative way with a baby chicken! The sign said, “Don’t be a chicken and go to prom with me.” Brittany said yes and also got a new pet along the way.
We’ve seen promposal now end in new pets and sweet treats, it was fantastic to see all the creative proposals. Friday Night the contest had ended with the winners being Angel Aviles and his girlfriend Valeria Reyes! The Gauchos are excited to see what promposal we get to see next year.
