On Monday Feb. 27, 2023 at 10:22 p.m., a vehicle was spotted driving northbound on Highway 101 with multiple vehicle code violations. A Petaluma Police Officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the vehicle continued to drive. After 9 miles of being chased by the patrol officer, the driver finally stopped at the Todd Road exit in Santa Rosa. The driver — later identified as Irish McBroom —  was taken into custody. This was an act of evading the officers, so he was charged at the Sonoma County Jail for evading a peace officer and violating his probation.
