At Casa Grande High School, students never shy away from celebrating holidays year-round. On Halloween, everyone dresses up, and on Thanksgiving, students get an entire week off for a mid-semester break. During Christmas time, Casa takes a two-week winter break, leaving on the 21st of December, returning on the 9th of January. However, before the break, Casa Grande hosts a school-wide ‘Holiday Fair’ event at the Ole, inviting students to purchase delicious food for themselves and their friends.

Last year, the fair was on December 16th and was a hit among all the students. Many festive tables were set up across campus with snacks, drinks, and other items for sale, which many people bought and enthusiastically enjoyed. Some of these treats were bags of popcorn, delicious donuts, candy canes, and sweet hot chocolate. Ty Ervin, a junior at Casa Grande, said, “The holiday fair was an extremely successful event, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I think Casa should do more events like this as it brings up school spirit.”

This year, the holiday fair is landing on the 15th of December, and many students are preparing to buy and sell refreshments for the season. “This is my first year at Casa, and some of my other friends said it was cool, so I guess I’m excited,” said freshman Bella Woldemar. Foods from home, stores, and various cultures will be featured at the Fair, including drinks like Gatorade and hot chocolate, so make sure you go get them during lunch! Be ready for the fair with cash in hand for the delicious treats made and brought by peers.

Students around the school can come meet in the Olé at lunch this Friday, and enjoy the treats featured across the many different club tables. There has also been another change this year: if you dress up for the Spirit Day, you can earn free “Gaucho-Bucks,” which can also be used to purchase items! Any students planning on purchasing food during the fair should remember their festive colors this Friday.
