December 1st through the 5th is the one and only Winter Spirit Week! Students had fun and showed the Casa Grande Spirit by dressing up!
Not only students but also our teachers dressed up. Many things connect students here at Casa, but having winter fun while dressing up is one of the best! Monday to Friday there were many fun themes and games that ASB worked hard to plan and get worked out for the students and teachers here at Casa.

Monday was the one and only Holiday PJ Day. Many people were wearing their fun pajamas with many Christmas features on them, like Santa, snowflakes, and reindeer! ASB handed out free hot chocolate in the morning outside of the ASB classroom. Who doesn’t love free hot chocolate, especially during the cold mornings, which in Petaluma have been getting brutal. Many people don’t remember it being this cold for so long last year. Each morning when people step out of the house they feel like they’re in the North Pole!
Tuesday was Holiday Sweater Day, so students got to wear their favorite ugly holiday sweaters. By sending a photo to ASB, students entered themselves into the contest for the best ugly sweater to win a prize. Hot chocolate and a prize — that can’t get any better!
Wednesday was Holiday Hat Day. Some variations of the hats seen were reindeer ears or even Santa hats. This proved to be a nice and simple theme to keep the bright sun out of everyone’s eyes. It wasn’t just Holiday Hat Day, but there was also a tree decorating contest during lunch, celebrating with a classic family tradition. For some families, when they gather in the living rooms to put up all of their ornaments, that’s when they really feel the Christmas spirit.
Thursday was Cozy Cabin Day. All participating Gauchos wore their flannel attire looking snazzy and classy for the winter! Also, ASB handed out free hot chocolate kits during lunch. Making hot chocolate with family or friends is a fun way to spend the cold days.
Friday was Blizzard Winter White Out Day. The assignment on this day was to wear white, and there was a bonus snowball toss at lunch. People competed against each other laughing and giggling, having fun all around. Just for participating, students won candy canes. Nothing says Christmas more than snowballs and candy canes! Throughout the entire week, everyone felt the Christmas spirit.
Hot chocolate, a prize, a tree decorating contest, hot chocolate kit, and a snowball toss? That’s a fun spirit week right there! Make sure to give thanks to the ASB for organizing this awesome spirit week for us! They worked hard on this one!
