On Tuesday, Dec. 9, our Girls’ Varsity Soccer team faced Maria Carillo High School in a game that ultimately led to a 0-0 draw. Although our Gauchos didn’t walk away with the victory, they fought until the end and demonstrated their resilience and perseverance.
During the first half of the game, both teams were attacking. There were various opportunities to score for both sides but none of these became anything other than an attempt at scoring the opening goal.
The second half was similar to the first, with both teams continued pushing forward in hopes to break the tie. However, it was clear that our Gauchos were the better team. They attacked and dominated during the second half. They had various shots that were close and at but none of these ended up in the back of the net. Although the game ended in a scoreless tie, our Gauchos never backed down and they kept trying until the sound of the final whistle ultimately eliminated their hopes to walk away with a deserved victory.
